Recap of Sunday night’s season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead. Spoiler alert! if you have yet to see the newest episode, this article will spoil some major details for you.
Last night’s episode began where we left off last season, the gang was being held hostage by the brutally evil Negan and his goons. As the gang fearfully awaits their fate, Negan pulls the clearly shaken up Rick into the RV and they speed away leaving his circle of friends behind.
Once Rick returns from his private chat and hatchet hunting "test" with Negan, it is finally revealed who the first unlucky soul is. We all watched in horror as the bat struck Abraham in the head revealing that it was his eyes we had been looking through the entire time. Negan continues to then make mashed potatoes out of Abraham's head and quickly starts to contemplate his next victim, which is even more heart wrenching. His next victim had been around since season one and was definitely a fan favorite and key player in the groups success so far... Glenn takes a massive and nasty blow to the head popping his eye out and leaving him horribly disfigured. Negan let him suffer for a minute before making more mashed potatoes. Leaving nothing but mush with a cherry on top and by cherry, I mean Glenn's wonky eye.
This was for sure one of the most dramatic episodes we have seen in a long time! To add to the seat gripping episode we also witnessed Daryl being coaxed into a van with candy and ice cream. Well, not really, more like shoved in and taken hostage. This all happens along with the intensity of Rick almost cutting Carl's left hand off! After this drama unfolds Negan leaves the gang severely traumatized and vows to return to pay Rick and group another visit.
Surely a very tough episode to watch and it was very hard to see Glenn and Abraham go. Makes you wonder how the gang will free themselves from the grasp of Negan and his crew.
